Jebel Ali International Seafarers Centre was inaugurated on 23rd May, 2016 by the Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, the 3rd largest port operators and trade enabler in the world with 72 international ports under it management/ownership. DP world values the contribution made by seafarers to world wide trade and endeavors to provide assistance and welfare to this community.The current Seafarers Centre was created to replace the original well utilized and very popular large centre which was lost to the port expansion in 2104. This one has a well patronized restaurant and a duty free shop, free Wifi, email facilities a snooker table and some other indoor games. Further expansion of the centre are planned. Free transport to and from vessels to the centre is provided to all vessel crew and captain. Several special events are held each year when free food , welcome drinks medical checkups and counselling services are provided. Visit to the centre by all seafarers is free. A managing committee is charged with the responsibility of the center’s activities and management.
